With Yay.com, you are assisted in an easy and painless digital migration. No matter how many phone numbers are linked to your business, bringing them with you is as simple as contacting your new VoIP provider. The process takes 2-3 weeks and you will be given a set completion date, so you can begin preparing for the switch immediately. What’s more, you will be able to completely configure your number(s), including call routing systems and mailbox greetings, the day before your number ports, so you experience zero downtime.
What will the transfer process look like?

Once you have requested a phone number transfer, paid your fee and uploaded the required documents, the status of your transfer’s request will change to ‘awaiting verification’.
All documents are checked and verified manually by a member of our dedicated Porting team to make the process as secure as possible. We’ll contact you if we have any questions or need anything else before we proceed. If any documents have been rejected, these are marked in the dashboard.
Once your documents have been accepted, we will submit the request to your current provider and the status of your transfer request now changes to ‘request submitted’. From the time the request is submitted, it will take 2-3 weeks for the number to be ported.
The provider comes back and accepts or rejects the request. Once the request is accepted, your porting date will be confirmed. At this stage, the status changes to ‘date set’.
On the day prior to the porting, you will be sent an email informing you that your number is now configurable and the dashboard status will change to reflect this.
At this point, you can set up your number for inbound calls, making sure it rings in the right places. Setting up your new number(s) within the Yay.com dashboard can be done in 5mins over the phone with a member of the support team by ringing +1 888 929 8747, or you can dive in and set it up yourself!
On the day of the port, the porting process itself will always complete by 5PM UTC. Calls are re-routed one at a time by each network operator, so you may experience some calls ringing on one phone with others ringing on your new Yay.com setup. Either way, you’ll never miss one as it all happens!
Once you’re all transferred, your business can grow with you. Investments in new employees and new locations are no longer a headache. Simply add the desired number of new users to your plan to begin growing with us and, if desired, you can purchase new numbers for geographical specificity. If you’re based in the US, you’ll be able to transfer your existing phone numbers over to us and, within the month, appear to have a global presence with new European and Canadian numbers. This way, as your business grows in depth and breadth, you have a dedicated business phone system that grows with you and offers you the world instead of costing it.
