What’s the update?
Resellers of our VoIP products can now offer their customers discounts. VoIP resellers can also offer their customers a 14-day free trial.
Why it’s exciting
Discounts and free trials represent two additional weapons in your negotiations arsenal. If you’re ready to land a big account but need just a bit more leverage to pull your prospective customer over the finish line, you can offer them a discount.
What’s more, some customers will want to get a sense of your service before parting with their money. Allowing them to begin a free trial of their own accord while browsing your reseller store website, or assigning one yourself during customer creation, gives prospective customers the freedom they need to get comfortable with the service and integrated enough to convert.
This gives you more flexibility when it comes to the ways in which you land customers and choose to do business.
How you can benefit
These features are available to all resellers right now.
Discounts are applied to customers from within your dashboard. To apply a discount, edit the customer and navigate to the new ‘discounts’ tab at the far right.
Discounts can be applied to both VoIP and domains products. Select the product type (and, if you’d like to get more specific, the subtype as well) you’d like to discount and then the discount type.
For example, you may wish to discount only a customer’s Flying High VoIP users.
Three types of discounts are available:
- Dedicated amount
- Percentage off
- Price override
Deducted amount will reduce the price of the selected product by an absolute amount.
Percentage off will reduce the price of the selected product by a given percentage of the total price.
Price override will reset the price of the product for this customer to whatever you set this value to.
Trials won’t cost you anything as a reseller, so are a great way of demonstrating your product to prospective customers.
The free trial runs for 14 days and customers will get three users and one phone number to try out during this time. They’ll have unlimited free calls between users, but only 5 minutes of inbound/outbound calls per day.
Toggle these on from the Site Settings section of your reseller store settings to activate a homepage modal notifying visitors about the free trial and (coming soon) a brochure page that will sit on your site selling visitors on the idea of signing up.
You can also choose the 14-day free trial option when creating a customer and assigning them an initial plan, which is essential for dashboard-only customers and those who wish to do direct business.
