How can I conference calls on a Grandstream phone?
Q.

How can I conference calls on a Grandstream phone?

A.

A conference call is a good way to make use of your voice telephony solution and it couldn’t be easier than with a Grandstream phone. If you’re looking to conference in another person to your call, the process is very simple and can be done very quickly

  • On a Grandstream GXP21xx series IP phone, while you’re on an existing call press the button  Grandstream conference call setup  to put the current caller on hold and establish a second call.
  • Call the person you would like to conference in and once they’ve picked up, you’ll see a “Conf” button appear on the screen. Once you’re happy to combine the 2 calls, press this “Conf” button.
  • You’ll then find the 2 calls connect and you’ll be able to have a 3-way hosted voice conversation.

For a GXP1625 the process is exactly the same - press the conference button while on a call, establish a call to another number or extension, once connected press the “ConfCall” button and the calls connect.

You can repeat this process multiple times by pressing the conference button to have multiple people in the call!

Yay.com has another, simpler solution this too called the Conference Bridge feature. You can read more about that here
