How long does it take for changes to my domain name take effect?

When you make changes to either your Nameservers or your DNS (Domain Name System) on any site, not just Yay, changes don't take effect immediately.

As the domain has to update all cached data across the entire World Wide Web, this can take an extended period of time. Although most changes will occur within the first 1-4 hours, dependent on your TTL settings (Time To Live - which is how long a server should cache the DNS query, and how often it will update the cache) we know it can take up to 48 hours to fully update. 

This means if you update the Nameservers or DNS and it hasn't made any changes or started working instantly, it's not a problem. More often than not, if you wait a few hours, clear the cache on your browser (Or try from a browser you don't use often) you'll find everything should be in place.
