VoIP Network

How do I set up the Quality of Service (QoS) for a Draytek?

QoS is a feature that all Drayteks have that allow you to split your bandwidth and prioritise it to the features needed most. In the case of yay.com (and VoIP in general), you would allocate most of your bandwidth for VoIP, for example 50%, with the other 50% being allocated for other services such as video streaming and web surfing. This allows you to keep crystal clear VoIP calls, all while not using up the entirety of your bandwidth.

To setup a Draytek's Quality of Service settings, you'll first need to log into the interface. To do this, you'll need to find the IP address of your Draytek (the standard being 192.168.1.1), or you can use either of the two IP scanners listed below!

    Configuring QoS Final Step

It is advised (as noted in the picture above) to run a speed test on your internet to get your speeds so that it can be adjusted correctly where needed. Each call over VoIP with us is 80kbs for every call both inbound and outbound. For example, if you had 3 calls happening at once, that would be 240kbs in total.

Once you have entered the ratios, hit OK and then you will have successfully configured Quality of Service!
