Need handsets or headsets for your business?
We stock a wide range of hardware to make accessing your VoIP service even easier.
To use the Yay webphone, you can either enter phone.yay.com in your browser bar and use your yay.com login credentials, or directly from your yay.com account under My Dashboard, you can click the Webphone link to go to the webphone.
Once in the webphone, using the 'Select SIP User' field, you would select which user you'd like to use on the webphone. The icon of the silhouette next to the text field allows you quick and easy access to other extensions within your yay.com account for calls to extensions or transfers.
To make a call, you can either use the on-screen keypad, or you can click in the text field box and type the number yourself!
To put a call on hold, when a call is taking place, simply click the green pause button!
There are two different types of transfers:
A blind transfer is a transfer to another extension without actually initiating a call to the end destination. The call is blindly transferred to the destination
To achieve a blind transfer, when you have a call you would like to transfer, press the blue transfer button and then in the text field, type the number or extension that you would like to complete the blind transfer to and then click on the 'dial number field'. Your call will then transfer!
An attended transfer is where the call is put on hold before actually travelling to the destination and another call is initiated to confirm whether the end destination actually wanted to take the call or not. These two calls are then merged together
To achieve a attended transfer, when you have a call you would like to transfer, press the blue transfer button and then in the text field, type the number or extension that you would like to complete the transfer to and then click on the blue transfer button.
Your call will then go through to your colleague. If they are happy to accept the call then press the green transfer button to complete the transfer!
Yes you can! Each extension will have a coloured square next to them to indicate the status of that extension:
