Toll-free numbers are described by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as below:
"Toll-free numbers are telephone numbers with distinct three-digit codes that can be dialled from landlines with no charge to the person placing the call. Such numbers allow callers to reach businesses and/or individuals out of the area without being charged a long-distance fee for the call."
These US numbers are usually used in a customer service capacity, allowing customers the availability to call in for no additional charge! Customers calling from a cell may still be charged unless they have an "Unlimited Calling" plan.
You can also find "Vanity Numbers", which are phone numbers that spell out a certain word or your business name, such a +1 833-243-CALL or +1 888-YAY-8747, and will quite often be toll-free numbers.
At Yay.com we provide a variety of different toll-free numbers such as +1 888 or +1 833, and you can see all of our available numbers on the Phone Number Search on our site. No toll-free number costs money to call, and all toll-free numbers are great value to run.
