Why am I being charged for a years renewal when transferring my domain?
Q.

Why am I being charged for a years renewal when transferring my domain?

A.

All gTLD domain transfers are subject to a requirement from the registry to extend the expiration date by an additional year following the completion of the transfer.

When transferring your domains to Yay.com, you only pay for the renewal of one year - this fee is standardised across the board so we have made this as cheap as we can!

The transfer itself is free - yay!
