What is the .NEW Limited Registration Period?

Apply for your .NEW domain within the Limited Registration Period (LRP) if you would like to secure a .NEW domain before the General Availability public launch. If you don’t have a trademark, this is the first opportunity to register a generic or popular domain name before anyone else.

How does .NEW LRP work?

All .NEW domain applications made in LRP are evaluated by Google, who run the .NEW domain registry. Once the Google Registry team have reviewed applications for compliance, the domain will be allocated and an allocation token will be provided by the Google Registry. Once an allocation token is received, you will be able to register your .NEW with us.

.NEW LRP application phases

Applications are not on a first-come, first-served basis, but will be evaluated in batches based on the strongest use cases. Earlier batches will be prioritised over later batches.

All batches are four weeks long, except for the first batch which is five weeks long and follow the schedule below.

Batch 1 December 2, 2019 to January 5, 2020

Batch 2 January 6, 2020 to February 2, 2020

Batch 3 February 3, 2020 to March 1, 2020

Batch 4 March 2, 2020 to March 29, 2020

Batch 5 March 30, 2020 to April 26, 2020

Batch 6 April 27, 2020 to May 24, 2020

Batch 7 May 25, 2020 to June 21, 2020

Batches start and end at midnight Pacific Time between the Sunday and Monday pairs noted in the dates above.
